Welcome Susan Stern, Occupational Therapist, to the White Willow Team! Susan is bringing her Hands of Light Energywork and John Barnes Myofascial Release Services. These services can be standalone, or combined. The more we learn about the fascia. the more we see its importance in the health of the whole person. Chinese Medicine has known this forever, but Western Medicine is just catching up. We hold stories and emotions and traumas in the tissues of our bodies.
We interviewed Susan so you could get to know her a little better:

What's brings you joy?
The thing that give me the most joy is dogs that smile. I love dogs! Especially when they're smiling.
What do you like most about your work?
I love interacting and engaging with people and helping them feel better. Bringing ease to pain. I love working one on one with people to help them feel better.
If you were a mythical creature, who would you be?
A mermaid! I’m a Scorpio and I love water. I even love mermaid food like seaweed. I’d have a dolphin friend to swim with.

There are so many! I’m working with blue apatite currently. My all-time favorite is selenite - it feels so powerful. It feels so clear and cleansing. Oh! And rose quartz!
What herb are you currently vibing with?
I’m working with wild yam lately and I also love lemon balm for calming my nervous system.
What subject do you know a lot about?
I know a lot about fascia and I will totally nerd out about it with anyone who wants to talk about it. It’s so interesting that we just started learning about it in western medicine about 60 years ago. It’s so important to our vital functions.
Which element do you most embody?
Water and air. I love water but I have a lot of gemini in my astrology chart and have a lot of air qualities. I need more earth! I can ponder all day long.

I make healthy muffins and breads like chocolate black bean muffins and zucchini bread. I love to make soups too.
What's your favorite scent?
ROSE!

Probably Japan. I’m interested in Japanese culture.

All of them! I love the herbal tinctures and teas. The jewelry, the stones. I love the whole shop!
What’s a fun fact about you?
I’m really good at remembering birthdays. If you tell me once, it’s locked in, or at the very least I’ll remember the month.
