Step into gentle yet profound healing through plant medicine with Clinical Herbalist, Charley Caudill

Harmonize Your Health with Integrative Herbal Wellness

Herbalism is the practice of using medicinal plants for wellness purposes. It is a holistic approach to health and wellness that dates back thousands of years, with roots in traditional healing systems from around the world.

Herbal remedies can be used to support the body's natural healing processes, strengthen the immune system, and address underlying imbalances that may contribute to illness. These remedies can be particularly beneficial for chronic conditions, as they often have fewer side effects compared to pharmaceutical drugs. When used in conjunction with Western medicine, herbalism can enhance the effectiveness of treatment and help manage side effects.

Overall, herbalism offers a natural and gentle approach to health and wellness that can be used alongside modern medicine to support and enhance the body's ability to heal itself.

Charley Caudill, Clinical Herbalist

I am an herbalist, trained in Southern Folk Medicine & Western Herbalism, having studied with Phyllis Light at the Appalachian Center for Natural Health in Alabama. I have also studied with Sajah Popham of Evolutionary Herbalism.

Frequently Asked Questions

Southern Folk Medicine is the medicine of the people. It was formed in the Southern United States as Europeans, Africans, and Native Americans combined their knowledge of plant medicines. This practice looks at every person as the unique individual they are. Herbal remedies and nutrition are tailored to a person’s body constitution and temperament.

The really magical thing about folk medicine is that we can use the plants that grow all over Kentucky as a catalyst for healing. Unlike pharmaceuticals, which are aimed at forcing a change in the symptoms of disease, herbal remedies work to turn on your body’s ability to correct imbalance in the tissues and come back to harmony. While this idea of balancing body constitutions is somewhat similar to Chinese Medicine or Ayurvedic Medicine, the main difference is that we use herbs native to the US, rather than shipping them from overseas. This means that your plant allies could be growing in your own backyard!
